The Laser

The pump laser is a Class 3B laser (5-500mW). 3B lasers can cause permanent eye damage at exposures of 1/100th of a second or less depending on the laser strength. At the high end, these lasers can lightly burn skin, however the PTI IQ1C50 will not, the fact only serves as a warning.

Being such a high-intensity laser, be sure to wear the correct laser glasses/goggles. Generally, orange lenses protect against blue/violet wavelengths.:

• Kentek goggles with the 'Argon' filter protect against blue.

• Kentek goggles with the 'Diode' filter protect against near IR. This applies to the down-converted light.
