College Tech Prep

Tech Prep programs through a cooperative relationship with the school systems of Stark County and Stark State College of Technology focus on educational and career preparation for high school students. The programs could be described as combining the academic rigor of a college prep curriculum with career technical training. After completion of a strong academic and technical program in high school, the Tech Prep students will be prepared to continue their technical education at a two-year college, enter full time employment, enter a business-sponsored training program or pursue a baccalaureate degree at a four-year institution. Students from all consortium high schools are eligible to apply for admission to these programs on a tuition free basis. However, students must provide their own transportation to and from the Tech Prep Programs. These programs are housed at high schools across the county. More detailed information to be found at

Career Technical Program

The Career Technical Path refers directly to programs housed at RG Drage Career Center. Unlike in years past the courses housed at RG Drage will have college component for students who qualify academically. Students who attend RG Drage are on track to graduate from Tuslaw High School and are prepared not only to enter a technical program, but traditional 4-year college. With careful attention to schooling, students can both learn a technical skill and be ready to enter for whatever options they choose.
