College Credit Plus (CCP)

CCP has been established to permit high school students in grades 9-12 to earn college and high school credit through the successful completion of college courses. The program is intended to provide expanded opportunities for appropriately qualified high school students to experience coursework at the college or university level.

We are partnering with Kent State at Stark at Tuslaw High School.  Our students will have the opportunity to take their General Education courses/Core Courses at Tuslaw High School.  The courses will be taught by Kent State faculty or Tuslaw High School teachers.    

Any high school student admitted by an institution of higher education will be expected and required to perform at the same level as the institution's regular students. Historically speaking, only Tuslaw students who are in grades 11 & 12 have taken college courses. Waiting until the junior year allows students to mature and be able to academically handle the college coursework. 

Students can take advantage of this program without any cost to parents. The Tuslaw High School staff will provide the necessary forms to register for this program at the annual CCP meeting.  The meeting was held in December in the high school cafeteria.   Students must notify the Guidance Department of their interest by March 14th prior to the participating school year.  Students must complete these forms every year they participate in CCP. 

*State Board of Education guidelines mandate that students and their parents must meet with the school counselor (at the CC group meeting or through an individual meeting) prior to participating.
