Algebra I 1 credit
The course is designed for those students who have a sound understanding of basic math operations. The course will cover all the algebra concepts needed for the next level of mathematics. Many word problems and problem solving techniques will be covered. Graphing calculator will be required for this course.
Geometry 1 credit
The course is designed to introduce students to spatial relations and geometric figures. The students will further his/her training in logical methods of mathematical thinking and problem solving.
Algebra II 1 credit
The course will review Algebra I skills and extend the student's knowledge to include complex numbers, logarithms, and alternative methods for solving systems of equations, This course is the foundation for all the other upper level math courses. Students will be required to have a graphing calculator for this class.
AP PreCalculus 1 credit
Taking AP Precalculus prepares you for other college-level mathematics and science courses. During the course, you’ll explore everyday situations using mathematical tools and lenses. You’ll also develop an understanding of modeling and functions, and examine scenarios through multiple representations. The course framework outlines content and skills needed for careers in mathematics, physics, biology, health science, social science, and data science. In this course, you will learn to algebraically manipulate functions, equations, and expressions; translate mathematical information between representations; and communicate with precise language, and providing rationales for conclusions.
*Prerequisite: Algebra II
AP Calculus 1 credit
Calculus is a challenging course that uses many concepts and techniques that have been introduced in the four previous math classes. Added to this is the process of taking a limit. From the idea of a limit we get the two principle concepts of calculus which are the derivative and the integral. Many applications from far reaching fields of math and science will be shown in the examples. Students can choose to take the AP Calculus test in May.
*Prerequisite: Pre Calculus
Statistics and Probability 1 credit
This is an introductory course with an exciting perspective on how mathematics can effect everyday life. We will look at reading and interpreting graphs constructed from real world data. The course will also cover ways of calculating statistical events. This course will require the use of a graphing calculator as well as computers. (Seniors ONLY).
*Prerequisite: Algebra II
