High School Concert Choir 1 credit
This course is open to all men grades 9-12 and all women who have sung at least one year in our women's chorus. The group is limited to 100 students. Students who have not been members before will be taken on a first-come, first serve basis. The group performs at several concerts as well as in competition. Students will learn and perform a variety of choral music and learn the fundamentals of choral singing. Students have the opportunity to audition for New Horizons and sing in small ensembles.
High School Band 1 credit
This course is open to students in grades 9-12 who have successfully completed the junior high level of their instrumental music training or are willing to take weekly private lessons from a recommended teacher until until the student reaches an acceptable level. All members participate in marching band (exception: varsity football players do not march during the pregame shows). Students in this class have the opportunity to be a part of the Jazz Band, Pep Band, and are able to participate in small groups or individually at OMEA Solo and Ensemble adjudicated events.
New students must audition for a Band Director before placement will be considered.
Music Theory 1/2 credit
This course is open to all students in grades 9-12. It is highly recommended that you are able to read sheet music prior to taking this course. We will learn about the different elements of music and how each relates to its composition. We will also work to develop a deeper understanding of how music theory can be applied in an ensemble or individual setting.
Music Film Studies 1/2 credit
History of Rock 'n' Roll I 1/2 credit
This course will explore the roots of rock music from the beginning until the 1970's. We will learn about the elements of music, lyric writing and learn about various musicians who inspired rock 'n' roll. Students will gain an understanding of the music through various projects and in-depth biographies on artists. This course is open to anyone with an interest in rock music.
History of Rock 'n' Roll II 1/2 credit
This course will explore the roots of rock the 1970's through today. Students will continue to build their rock 'n' roll knowledge through utilizing technology resources on various projects and through in-depth biographies on artists.

History of Country Music 1/2 credit
This course will explore the roots of country music. We will learn about the elements of this type of music and learn about the various musicians who inspired it. Students will gain an understanding of the music through various projects and in-depth biographies on artists. This course is open to anyone with an interest in country music
