Strong determination, proper wok attitude and personal integrity made him face life’s challenges. This young and vibrant boy who hails from San Salvador, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur proved to himself........if there’s a will, there’s a way.

Just like any normal young boy, Bernard dreamt of finishing high school. Despite the hardships in life, Bernard had made his commitment to excel both in his studies and in his personal life. In order to pursue his secondary education, Bernard became a working student and finished his secondary education at the Patin-ay National High School in 2009.

Right after graduation from high school, he had no other choice but to enrol in Scaffold Erection NC II as a PGS Scholar. Undoubtedly, he finished the program and passed the National Competency Assessment Certificate Level II. Yet, it wasn’t enough for him; he took another related qualification Carpentry NC II and passed the National Competency Assessment. He finished the training on December, 2009.

It was on the perks of the yuletide celebration and everyone was busy preparing for the coming of year 2010, when an opportunity knocked for all graduates of Agusan del Sur School of Arts and Trades (ASSAT) in the construction sector came. Representatives from one of the promising construction company in Cebu City came hire manpower for their company and Bernard was one of those who grabbed the opportunity.

The group left for Cebu City on January, 2010. There were 20 of them who sought greener pasture in the Queen City of the South. However, one by one went home after two months of employment until such time that only Bernard was left behind. He never allowed loneliness to conquer him. His determination to help his family made him stayed that strong... and though he had chosen the road which is less travelled by but it has made all the difference...

Now, he is still working at the Primary Structures Corporation at Cebu City. At the age of 20, Bernard C. Baldo had already helped his family.
