Capacity-Building Training in Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship, Food Processing, Packaging and Labelling: A CSBP Inter-Agency Initiative Launched at ASSAT

In response to the presidential directives in assisting the family and dependents of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel who were killed in action/wounded in action (KIA/WIA) and killed in police operations/wounded in police operations (KIPO/WIPO) through the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP), a capacity-building training on Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship, Food Processing, Packaging and Labelling was launched at Agusan del Sur School of Arts and Trades (ASSAT) on April 11-12, 2018. The activity was graced by the Regional Director of Philippine National Police (PNP)-Caraga, P/CSUPT Noli Andrade Romana. Also present were the various agencies of government: Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) represented by Mr. Jorem J. Luzon-LGOO II, DILG-ADS who acted as the Secretariat; Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) represented by Ms. Aibel B. Tolentino, Negosyo Center Business

Counselor who talked on Entrepreneurship, Labelling and Packaging; Ms. Reygett M. Decalit of Presidential Management Staff (PMS) gave an assuring message to the dependents; Ms. Glizriel Rose Z. Quijada form the Bangko Sentral ng Plipinas (BSP) discussed Financial Literacy Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) was represented by Director Allan S. Millan, OIC Provincial Director-TESDA, SDN and Director Braulio P. dela Peña Jr., Provincial Director-TESDA, ADS. Gen Franco Nemesio Gacal AFP- 402 BDE Commander represented by Capt Pueblas graced the Closing Program on April 12.

A skill training on Food Processing – Tocino, Longganisa and Beef Tapa Making was conducted by ASSAT trainer Mrs. Matilde R. Aranjuez.

Fourteen dependents (14) of the six (6) casualties successfully completed the training program. Of the 6 casualties, 1 was a PNP - PO3 Rodel A. Monteza from P4, Doña Rosario, Tubay, Agusan del Norte; 1 was a CAFGU - CAA Jomar C. Tejero from San Isidro, Bislig City; and 4 were AFP - TSG Edgar C. Andal from Salvacion, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, PFC Al Ryan Requerme from Purok 12, Gasa, Trento, Agusan del Sur, PFC Jordan S. Maquiling from P8, Wangan, Calinan, Davao City and CPL Jingle G. Sabosido from Purok Rising Sun, Bag-ong Lungsod, Tandag City. #muc#
