Caraga delegates to vie for PNSC 2020

Tibungco, Davao City — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) through Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center (KorPhil) recently hosted the 2019 Visayas-Mindanao Zonal Skills Competition last November 16 to 24.

This tilt is conducted to select the best contender from the Visayas-Mindanao zone who will compete with the best competitors from Luzon in the upcoming Philippine National Skills Competition in Taguig, Metro Manila.

Accompanied by their respective school administrator and provincial director as a sign of support, Agusan del Sur School of Arts and Trades’ (ASSAT) and Caraga Region’s competitors and experts in their chosen fields battled it out and emerged victoriously.

Marvin P. Portillo, a Unified Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act recipient (UAQTEA) of ASSAT, won a bronze medal in Welding with his coach Mrs. Maricel O. Balinton.

Christopher M. Nueva, Jr., a second- year Electrical Engineering student of ASSAT, won the top spot in Electrical Installations. He also garnered the highest CIS Score during the said contest which earned him the Best of Region Award. His coach, Engr. Jermy E. Divinagracia also received an award as Deputy Chief Expert in Electrical Installations.
