Italian Artist

Art was a key idea of the Renaissance. Most of history's most talented artists come from the era of the Renaissance; and there is two who have stood out from the rest. They are what we call a Renaissance person; someone who could do practically anything well. An example would be Leonardo da Vinci. He was one of the greatest genius' to have lived, as he was an expert painter, sculptor, architect, inventor, and engineer. Donatello was considered the greatest artist before Michelangelo. He built sculptures that were placed in town halls, in chapels, and all over the city. he built a total of five sculptures in his life, peaking in the mid-late 1400's. Raphael's movement toward Mannerism influenced painting styles in Italy's advancing Baroque period. He is celebrated for the balanced and harmonious compositions of his "Madonnas," portraits, frescoes, and architecture. Raphael continues to be widely regarded as the leading artistic figure of Italian High Renaissance classicism.
