Note to Star Party Organizer

If you are responsible for organizing a star party when a Boy Scout troop is coming to work on the astronomy merit badge, please keep the following things in mind.

• The scout troop will arrive an hour before the star party proper.
• Another staff member will be responsible for making sure the scout troop requirements are address and will meet the troop when the arrive.
• Scouts will be charged $10 each for the party - chaperones free.
• You will need to have the following stations set up and staffed for that evening
  • Globe at Night or something dealing with light pollution
  • The small radio telescope
  • Planet Resources - What's up in the sky and when.
  • Volunteers who are running telescopes during the evening need to have the cards below handy. These cards will remind them of things to tell the scouts when they come to observe through their scopes since both parties are likely to forget.
