Cardiovascular Program

Here at Iron Horse Middle School, we pride ourselves on our weekly cardiovascular program. An individualized program that is based on each student's individual fitness level, our primary focus is to help students gradually improve their cardiovascular fitness, by participating in activities that are moderate to vigorous in nature.

Each week, students will have 1-2 days where the focus is on fitness development. Depending on grade level and teacher, students will either participate in an endurance-based activity or in an interval-based training program. Students will periodically assess their own performances and will set goals for improvement from month to month. Coupled with daily cardiovascular/ sports activities, students should see a gradual improvement in their overall fitness throughout the year.
