Email Update - 8/30/26 - 9:30pm

Congratulations to our runners on a FANTASTIC race yesterday!!  It is exciting to see everyone run and I am looking forward to our first real meet on Friday.  Here is a link to the 2026 Armstrong Boys Cross Country Results which I am still working on, but it has the finish times and more from yesterday.  Thanks for being patient, in 22 years of coaching we have NEVER started school during the third week of practice/before Labor Day, usually it is the fourth week & after Labor Day, so we are in some uncharted waters but will be able to navigate it quite well with some planning and communication.

Practice Schedule

• Monday - 8/31/26 - 3:30-5:30pm - EVERYONE at AHS (we will be handing out uniforms and assigning lockers)

• Tuesday - 9/1/26 - 3:30-5:30pm - HS only at AHS

• Wednesday - 9/2/26 - 3:30-5:30pm - HS only at AHS

• Thursday - 9/3/26 - 3:30-5:30pm - HS at AHS

• Thursday - 9/3/26 - 4:15-5:30pm - MS walk over to AHS for workout

• Friday - 9/4/26 - ROSEMOUNT/IRISH INVITE

• Saturday - 9/5/26 - EVERYONE - Run on your own

• Monday, 9/7/26 - 3:30-5:30pm - EVERYONE at AHS

The middle school athletes are welcome to run on their own on Tuesday & Wednesday.  On Thursday they should walk over to AHS then can run the DBR and do strides & stretching on the track.

Uniforms & Lockers

Runners will be issued uniforms at practice TOMORROW, Monday - 8/31/26.  Uniforms consist of shorts & a singlet (uniform top).  They are numbered and students need to turn in the correct numbered uniform pieces at the end of the year or they will be charged.  They should be washed after every meet in cold water and dried on low/line dried.  Runners will also be assigned a locker and need to bring in their own lock.  They should bring running clothes to store in the locker and can change before/after practice in the Varsity Locker Room.

Irish Invite - Friday, 9/4/26 - Rosemount High School

This is a unique situation this year because we have school the day of the Irish Invitational.  I have spoken with my administrators and High School Students will be excused for the entire school day.  Middle School students will need to be excused by parents/guardians.  The runners will need to eat after the race and we will return after school lunch is over, so the plan is to go out to eat at Carbone's in Rosemount.  I need to call and confirm, but their website advertises a Pizza, Salad, & Pasta Buffet for $9.99, Monday-Friday 11:00am-1:30pm.  Students would bring some type of payment method and each pay individually upon arrival.  Here is the schedule for the day:

• 7:15am - arrive at AHS

• 7:30am - Bus leaves AHS

• 9:35am - Boys 9th & Under Race

• 10:25am - Boys C Race

• 11:15am - Boys Varsity Race

• 12:15pm - Bus to Carbones in Rosemount

• 2:15pm - Arrive at AHS

As mentioned above, this is a unique situation.  I will confirm all of this with my administrators & the restaurant.  I will let you know if anything changes, otherwise assume no news means no changes to the plan.
