Section VI Championships 5k - October 23, 2024
It was perfect fall day for the Varisty team to run at Gale Woods. The Falcons had seven outstanding runners and four of them had PR runs. Senior, Gabriels Wiegert led the team coming in at 16:61 and taking 21st place. Senior, Samuel Majewski earned 23rd place, running at 16:53.
Lefty Wright Grade Level Invite - October 21, 2024
It was a hot but very successful Lefty Wright Invite! The Falcons ran well through a beautiful golden Basset Creek Park. The coaches once again put on a great event. A huge thank you to all the family, friends and Armstrong Cycle Club bicyclists who volunteered at this event! It could not have happened without them.
Being the second year running this course, runners were prepared for the big hill on the course that was nicknamed Heartbreak Hill last year. The Freshman and under started off the team and took 6th place in the 5000m. Eighth grader, Easton Wolfle lead the group with a run time of 20 minutes and securing 17th place! Next up, were the sophmores who took 6th place as well. Mack Saffert took 10th place and ran at 19:20 and Jacob Reed earned 23rd place running at 20:25! Last up, the juniors and senior Falcons did their thing and also secured 6th place for the team! Senior, Theo Chirhardt led the group in that race, running at 19:44. Nice way to wrap up the season Falcons!

Armstrong Osseo Dual - October 15, 2024
It was a perfect fall day for the Annual Osseo and Armstrong one mile time trial and relay dual. The Falcons had 35 runners with a very impressive number of PRs. Freshmen Carson Johnson and Evan Thomas both had PRs that were over one minute in improvement!
There were six co-ed heats followed by a girls and then the boys 4x 400m relays. The Falcons took first place in five of the six heats with first place runners Zach Hrobak, Alvin Heam, Joshua Daniels, Carson Johnson and Evan Thomas leading the heats!
NWSC Meet - October 9. 2024
The NWSC Meet at the Elk River Golf Club was a beautiful, sunny day for the Armstrong runners.
The Varsity team ran the 5k first, setting the pace for the whole team. Senior, Sam Majewski was the first runner in with a time of 17:04 and earning 17th place. Sophmore, Zach Hrobak was the second in for the Falcons at 17:20 and placing 27th. Both Sam and Zach were top 28 finishers in the Varsity Race and earned All-Conference! Senior, Gabriel Wiegert and junior, Josh Sweeney earned Honorable Mention!
The JV team ran next with 25 runners, 12 PRs and earning the team 2nd place! Sophmores, Ethan Mosier came in 7th place place with a time of 18:59 and Mack Saffert placed 8th with at time of 19:02. In addition to Ethan and Mack, eighth grader, Easton Wolfle, sophmore, Jacob Reed and senior, Theo Chirhart all came in as top 25 finishers! Eighth graders, Zeek Voohas and Isaiah Hanson both had impressive improvement in their PRs by 1 minute and 12 second each. The future is bright!

STMA Invitational - October 3, 2024
It was perfect sunny afternoon for the Armstrong team to run the course at that STMA Invite at St. Michael's Rec Center. The Falcons had 36 runners in all with 9 runners in the Varsity race and 27 runners in the JV race.
The JV runners ran their 5k first with sophmore, Tyler Knutson running at 19:10 and earning a ribbon for finishing in the top 25! Sophmore, Mack Saffert was next in for the Falcons at 19:50. The Varisty 5k race was next with senior, Sam Majewski coming in first for the team at 17:14. Junior, Josh Sweeney ran 17:57 and sophmore, Benaiah Breker at 17:58 were the next two in for Armstrong.

Osseo Invitational - September 26, 2024
The Osseo Invite at Elm Creek Park Preserve was a sunny and hot afternoon of races. The Armstrong runners ran two races with the C race runners starting the team off and then the JV runners wrapping it up in a big way. The C race had 11 Falcons running with three PRs. Freshman, Dylan Payan had a very impressive improvement in his PR by 3 minutes and 17 seconds! Freshmen, Desmond Little running 21:02 and Carson Johnson running 21:16 led the way for the C team finishing in 16th and 19th place. The JV race was a bit unusual in that two of the top runners were disqualified so the Falcons got a bump up in placements. Junior, Anders Hassis took 4th place running 19:06 and scored a PR! Sophmore, Tyler Knutson took 6th place at a run time of 19:26! With 11 JV runners there were 5 PRs!
Tom Watson Mustang Stampede Invitational - September 21, 2024
The Mustang Stampede Invitational started off rocky with rain and thunderstorms delaying the runners for an hour, but it was worth the wait to see the Armstrong Falcons fly in their races. Armstrong had 21 runners with ten PRs!
The 2 mile middle school race started the team off with all three of our runners in the front of the pack. Eighth grader, Easton Woelfle left other teams in the dust finishing in 1st place with a run time of 11 minutes and 50 seconds and a PR! All three of our middle school runners had PRs!
Due to the storms and delays, the gold and silver JV teams were combined in one 5k race and ended the race in the sunshine. Senior, Alvin Hearn led the JV Falcons with a run time of 19:45 and setting a 1 minute PR! Sophmore, Jacob Reed was second in for the team, running at 19:49 and also securing a PR. Freshman, Ben Bernloeher had a impressiove PR of 1 minute and 56 seconds!

Roy Griak Invitational - September 20, 2024
It was hot and sunny for the varsity runners at the Roy Griak Invitational. The Falcons ran at Les Bolstad Golf Course, a tough and long course in St. Paul. Armstrong had ten runners in the Maroon race. Gabriel Wiegert led the Falcons with a time of 17:48 followed by Senior, Samuel Majewski and Junior Josh Sweeney. The Falcons placed 9th out of 36 teams.

Eden Prairie Metro Invitational - September 14, 2024
It was a perfect evening for runners and spectators at the Metro Invitational at Flying Cloud Fields in Eden Prairie. The runners started the evening with the youth 1 mile race, followed by the 3k middle school race , the JV red race at sunset, then the black JV race and concluding with the varsity race running 5ks. Armstrong had 29 high school runners and 20 of the runners had PRs. Freshman, Evan Thomas set his PR by 2 minutes and 37 seconds and freshman, Kyle Mittendorff set his PR at 2 minutes and 46 seconds!
In the youth 1 mile race, 5th graders, Gus Woelfle and Zach Krzyzanowski led the team. It was fun to see the high school team cheering them on. In the middle school 3k, 8th grader, Easton Woelfle led the team with a run time of 10:59 and took 12th place in the race! In the JV red 5k, freshmen, Kyle Mittendorf at 21:24 and Carson Johnson at 22:11 were the first two runners across the finish line. In the JV black 5k, sophmores Mack Saffert at 19:52 and Jacob Reed at 20:09 were at the front of the Armstrong team with Everett Molitor right behind them at 22:45. At the front in the Varsity 5k, seniors Gabriel Wiegert at 16:48 and Sam Majewski at 17:10 with sophmore Zach Hrobak at 17:18 right behind them led our runners and ended the night with alot of proud teammates and fans.

Bauman-Rovn Hopkins Invite - September 5, 2024
It was a perfect, sunny afternoon to run the Bauman-Rovn Hopkins Invite at Gale Wood Farms in Minnetrista. The course is part of the Three Rivers Park system and was designed specifically as a permanent cross country course. It is generally viewed by those who have competed here to be a demanding course with rolling terrain and several very tough hills. The runners had three races at this meet. There were 31 runners and 15 PRs at this Invite.
The Junior Varsity runners kicked off the 5k with 19 runners. Senior, Josh Daniels led the way with 20:18, with senior, Own McNutt behind him at 20:27. The Varsity team was next to run their 5k with eight runners and six PRs! Senior, Sam Majewski led the team with 17:00.5 and Senior, Gabriel Wiegert running 17:17. The middle school racers were last to run their 1.8 mile race, but placed well with 8th Grader, Dain Peters coming in 5th place with a time of 10:35!

Irish Invitational - August 30, 2024
It was a beautiful morning for the team to run the first official meet of the year. Zach Hrobak took 1st place in the C race! The Falcons had an incredible 29 PRs of 33 runners at this race!
For the high school and middle school runners, there were three races. There were the Varsity race, the C race and the 9th grade and under race. There were also five young runners in the 5th grade and under representing Armstrong.
In the Varsity race, seniors Gabriel Wiegert and Samuel Majewski ran an impressive time of 10:45 with sophomore Griffin Schmidt coming in behind them at 10:53. In the C Race, sophomore Zach Hrobak led the Falcons and took first place at 11:27! In the 9th and under race, Easton Woelfle headed up the team with a run of 12:44. For the younger runners representing Armstrong in the 5th grade and under 1 mile race, 4 of the 5 runners had PRs and they had a blast with the AHS team cheering them on.
Kleyman Time Trial/Alumni Race - August 24, 2024
It was a beautiful day for the 54th annual Kleyman Time Trail at Hidden Valley Park in New Hope, MN. There was a great turn out with the team and so many alumni racers, some even going back to the class of 1974. The 1974 Cross Country team were the state champions and we celebrated their 50 year anniversay!
Runners ran a timed two mile loop in the morning sunshine with impressive results. Senior, Sam Majewski finished first in 11 minutes and 18 seconds. Close behind was sophomore, Griffin Schmidt, third was senior, Gabriel Wiegert, fourth was junior, Josh Sweeney and fifth was sophomore, Benaiah Breker all contributing to a perfect score of 15 against the alumni runners.
