Multiplying with Mixed Numbers
Before multiplying mixed numbers you have to change them into improper fractions.
1. Multiply the denominator by the whole number and add the numerator. Put this answer over the same denominator as your original fraction.
2. If there is more than one mixed number do this to all of them.
Now Multiply:
1. Multiply the numerators (top numbers) together
2. Multiply the denominators together (bottom numbers)
3. Simplify your answer.
4. If your answer is an improper fraction, you may leave your answer as an improper fraction or turn it into a mixed number as long as it is in simplest form.
