Waste Cities Jerusalem Zec 12.6

Zec 11:1 Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

Zec 11:2 Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.

Zec 11:3 There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.

Zec 11:4 Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;

Zec 11:5 Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.

Zec 11:6 For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.

Zec 11:7 And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.

Zec 11:8 Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

Zec 11:9 Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.

Zec 11:10 And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.

Zec 11:11 And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

Zec 11:12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

Zec 11:13 And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

Zec 11:14 Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

Zec 11:15 And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

Zec 11:16 For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.

Zec 11:17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

---------------------------------

Zec 12:1 The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.

Zec 12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

Zec 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Zec 12:4 In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.

Zec 12:5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.

Zec 12:6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.

Zec 12:7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.

Zec 12:8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.

Zec 12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

Zec 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Zec 12:11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

Zec 12:12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;

Zec 12:13 The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart;

Zec 12:14 All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.

All Waste Cities to be Rebuilt

Christ's Acts of Salvation

"Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded, And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay deso late in the sight of all that passed by. And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited. Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it. Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock. As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the Loin." (Ez. 36:33-38.)

Although nothing will be built with dead material, such as now, the centers will, however, be restored in their order within the colonies that previously had been such. The promises show that in this kingdom the people have dominion over nature, especially so the class that by right eousness of faith have clothed themselves with the nature of God. They partake of God's creative power, and by means of this power they rebuild waste cities. Thus they have power over the vegetable kingdom so that from this they can produce houses and all that they wish. By con sidering the materialization of the following prophecy one can form an idea of the building art:

"Therefore my people shall know my name: there fore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that pub lisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reign eth! Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion. Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD bath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jeru salem. The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God." (Is. 52:6-10.)

This concerns the new Jerusalem, the capital city of the new earth. It is preached forth by the messengers of the Lord at the time the day of redemption and restoration arrives. It exists now as material, but this material is bound under the power of the Gentiles. It is liberated and will at first appear in Zion, a condition where they are wholly separated from the nations. Proclamation and co operating circumstances in the temple movement will all contribute to the fact that the new Jerusalem-host will appear at the place Jehovah has decided on. Faith is fully impressed there, and the representatives thereof will "shine as the sun in the kingdom of their Father." When placed in the desolate surroundings of Jerusalem, they will call forth from the world of nature about them everything that they as citizens of the new city desire to have in the style of houses. From there the work will continue in the same manner over the entire earth.

Could you help me with this...?

Is there anything that the Lee's elaborated on when it came to this verse?

What are your thoughts?--

Tami

Without checking in the reference book, which you might want to do, the way I remember is that the New Jerusalem will be in the same place as the old.

It is in Swedish -- yes, an article. And, I do not have a scanner.

Hi Tami,

In 20:1917 there is an article where Dr. & Mrs. Lee wrote: "According to the prophetic word in Zech. 12:6, it (the New Jerusalem) shall be in the same place where the old Jerusalem has stood."

That's really all I could find directly on that subject off hand. In "Christ's Acts of Salvation" -- page 59 and on, it speaks of the rebuilding of all waste cities, too.

Take care -and- God Bless!

Love, Eleanor
