This historical fact is the subject of Edward Gibbon's great book, The

History of the Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire. Therefore, we see

that the final world power is a union of ten Western nations

represented by the ten toes of the great image. The iron tells us

these nations were part of the old Roman Empire, whereas the clay

speaks of a deterioration as the empire weakened over the centuries.

Thus, the final world power will not be communism but a confederation

of ten Western nations under the first beast, or the Antichrist.

(Jack Van Impe makes it sound like Edward Gibbons did not set the date

of the Fall of Rome at 476. But that was the date!!

forced to abdicate by Odoacer.[6] The Eastern Roman or Byzantine

Empire endured until 1453 with the capture of Constantinople by the

Ottoman Turks led by Mehmed II.[7] Therefore, it is difficult to give

an exact date when the Roman Empire ceased to exist.

Edward Gibbon's 476 date for the Fall of Rome is conventionally

acceptable because that's when the Germanic Odoacer deposed the last

Roman emperor to rule the western part of the Roman Empire. However,

the people who lived through the takeover would probably be surprised

by the importance we place on this event. And there are other,

reasonably momentous dates for the Fall of the Roman Empire.

I'm making a big thing of this, as Jack Van Impe is making the

European Union the REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE.

And why is he turning the TEN TOES into TEN NATIONS? And how many

countries are now involved with the EUROPEAN UNION?
