Revealer of the Future

Out of Behold the Bridegroom

The Revealer of the Future

sent his apostles to proclaim the coming of the kingdom of God, based on the resurrection from the dead. When Jesus, with his death, had confirmed the covenant of Jehovah with the house of Juda, his great God and Father resurrected him and "made him both Christ and Lord" and took him unto Himself. There the Son awaits the day when God shall send him the second time to complete the work of redemption, by taking "the kingdoms of this world" from those who have "destroyed the earth" and by destroying the criminals.

When Jesus was slain, it became night for God's people and Jesus called that night "the times of the Gentiles" (Luke 21: 22-24). It is now midnight and very dark on the earth, and we are looking for the "midnight-cry" wherewith Jesus will "revive His work (God's covenant) in the midst of the years" (Comp. Dan. 9: 27 with Hab. 3 :'2.) The covenant week, consisting of seven years, was divided into two parts, with the times given to the Gentiles, lying between the two separated acts. Jesus used 31/2 years at his first presence and the other 31/a years belong to his second presence during which time he will confirm Gods' covenant with the house of Israel.

The midnight-cry will come with a mighty force and then it will not rain during the harvest-work, spoken of in Matt. 13: 24-30, 37-43. God promised Abraham that his seed should "possess the gate of his enemies" and Jesus adds, "Fear not little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." (Comp. Gen. 22: 16-18 and Luke 12: 2 with Rev. 11: 15.)

The gospel of Christ knows of no other place of rest for the redeemed than the "new heaven and the new earth," and this immortal creation will come forth through the resurrection at the sceond coming of Christ. Therefore Jesus and his disciples place the resurrection before us as the foundation of our faith; hope is the anchor which unites us with the coming reality. When Jesus, who is the "Resurrection and the Life", comes, he will lift the curtain of Death, spoken of in Luke 16: 19-31 and Is. 26: 19-21; 25: 7-9, and then will the Logos of God be revealed in a new and complete creation.

We can only say with the apostle, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled that fadeth not away." All ofGod's servants have spoken of this, the greatest of all events, which "is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
