Daniel 11th Chapter

The Great Passover of the Future - Dual Plan

XXVIII. THE GREAT PASSOVER OF THE FUTURE

Anyone who reads the .Holy Scripture with a mind to under stand it, must see that the scene at Golgotha does not complete the role the Son of man has to act as the Lamb sacrificed in connection with the new covenant. The Golgotha-scene corresponds with the slaying of the lamb in Egypt; but the passover part of it, as connected with the slaying of the lamb in Egypt, was not carried out in connection with the slaying of Christ; hence, the passover-act is still ahead of us and belongs to the remaining half of the week of the covenant.

The disciples of Christ were in a certain measure prepared for the passover event. Passover means that God will pass over his friends, but will slay his enemies. Christ said to them shortly before he was seized by the Roman soldiers:

"When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in m,e, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end." (Luke 22: 35-37.)

The disciples told him they had two swords, and he said: "It is enough." When the soldiers came to take him, Peter lifted his sword in order to defend his Master; but the Lord said to him;

"Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the Scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?" (Matt. 26: 52-54.)

The Scripture had to be fulfilled before the great passover-event connected with the slaying of the Lamb could occur. If we now follow up the prophetic chain in the Book of Revelation, we shall find explanations regarding this future event. If we read the 11th chap., where the mensuration of the temple is spoken of, we shall find that in connection with this passover-movement, two human beings, whom the Lord calls his "two witnesses," will be revealed as belonging to the same movement. In their hands are the defending swords of the sanctuary of heaven. They "have power to shut heaven that it rain not in the days of their prophecy." Thus, they are carrying on a prophetic work on the earth in connection with the temple of Christ. Because of the mighty swords of these two witnesses, the nations will be obliged to let the children of Israel go, as the Egyptians were obliged to let their forefathers go. The great Passover is still ahead of us. We remember that in the typical movement the children of Israel were separated from the Egyptians and were enclosed behind bloodstained doors while the angel of the Lord slew their enemies.

The Book of Revelation is a continuation -of the testimony of Jesus, especially applicable to the remaining time of the week of the covenant. Hence, that book contains the prophetic description of the paschal-proceedings which have yet to unfold.

The scene following the sealing process of the 144,000 is the unfolding of the golden altar of the spiritual temple. That golden altar is before the throne. The throne of God, according to the shadow, is the ark of the testimony which stands in the most holy place. When we compare Zech. 4: 11-14 and Rev. 11: 3-6 with Eze. 10: 1-4, it becomes plain that the two witnesses of Jesus unfold as the cherubs of the spiritual temple. When they have finished their testimony, they are killed as their Lord was killed at the end of his appointed time. Then and there the work of the covenant is closed up, and the undiluted judgment of God begins to pour over the desolating party.

The golden altar represents the tried faith of those who have been sealed. At the time the two witnesses are slain, the 144,000 begin to unfold as "the most Holy" of the sanctuary. which is the throne of God. The two witnesses, while fulfilling their mission, stand between the righteous Judge and the enemies of Truth as a wall of mercy. But when they are removed, the unmixed wrath of God falls upon the heads of the violent and upon all who have insulted and desolated the temple of God.

In the 9th chap. of Rev, the golden altar is again referred to. The Revelator says he heard a voice from the four horns of it. (The horns on the altar represent the mercy of God extending to the guilty. Comp. Exod. 97 : 25, 26; 1 Kings 2: 28; Psalm 118: 27.) That voice proclaimed, "Loose the four angels, which are bound in the great river Euphrates."

It is to these four angels or powers that the angel holding the seal of the living God speaks at the time his sealing-work begins. That work is finished by the time the two witnesses are slain. He commands them to hold the four winds of the earth, that the wind shall not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree, while he seals the 144,000.

The wind symbolizes the national wars which will have caused great disasters on both land and sea up to that time. At the end of the sealing-time, the command is revoked and the voice from the golden altar commands that they shall be loosened. This means that a most terrible war-storm will follow; it will come over the earth and the sea, and it will burn down the trees and everything that comes in its way.

The power referred to under the symbol of the River Euphrates is the Mohammedan kingdom, which, like the River Euphrates that divided the old Babylon into two parts by running through that city, runs through the Christian nations and holds them divided politically: i. e., with respect to their long-sought aim of conquering one another—Turkey holds the powers of Europe divided.

The Mohammedans are the descendants of Ishmael, the son of Abraham with Hagar, of whom the Lord prophetically said that he should be "a wild man; his hand against every man and every man's hand against him, and he shall dwell among his brethren," the scattered tribes of the seed of Abraham. The Mohammedans have been a beam in the eye of the Christian nations, and it will finally be to them what the great River Euphrates was to mother Babylon when Cyrus marched his men through its channel under the walls and conquered that great and well fortified city.

The word translated "the daily sacrifice" in Dan. 8: 12,13; 11: 31 and 12: 11, is Hatamid and signifies continuance or that which is determined. It has direct reference to the Passover. It points to a passover-act similar to the one that the Egyptians realized on the dreadful night when Israel stood ready to sever their bonds of servitude from them.

We notice that the prophetic language connected with the command going forth from the golden altar refers to a military power that is capable of setting in motion an army numbering "two hundred thousand thousand" (Rev. 9: 16) , which includes, of course, small and great. The Mohammedans number about 300,000,000. All other peoples that the Christian nations have oppressed will then join in and repay them doubly.

One thing that is very remarkable is the fact that the leading or officiating men among that people bear the name, Pascha, as an honorary title. Governors and military commanders are honored with that title.

The last action that is prophetically recorded regarding the cherubs of the temple of Christ is their war with the beast (the united Catholic and Protestant powers), which occurs at the time the cherubs have finished their testimony: namely, at the closing up of the three and one-half years. Surrounded by the camp of Israel, they lead and instruct that great assembly. The beast conquers, captures and kills them under circumstances similar to those that prevailed in Palestine when Christ their Lord was murdered. Their blood then constitutes the blood-sign on the door posts of all true Israelites. From that time, the people of God become separated from all unclean beings and from those outside of the Word of God.

The scene that follows the killing of those two witnesses of Jesus, according to the testimony given beforehand by their Lord, will cause the Christian nations to become so overwhelmed by fear and apprehension because of the wrath of God, that all their military strength will be lost in confusion and despair.

Just then the great army that carries out the second woe (comp. chap. 11: 14, with 9: 12) will break loose over the Christian nations and carry out a terrible slaughter. Armenia already stands as an example of what is in store for the antichristian people when their appointed time comes. Ishmael, this time, will execute the passover-act, when the hour comes.

Already, there is a great sign pointing to that event: namely, the uniting of the Mohammedans with Soviet Russia. They join hands with each other because both are similarly treated by the nations. The final consequence of this can be read in the prophetic Word. It is the passover-act of the new covenant.

Dan 11: 31 hatamid (Passover) Dual Plan:

The word from which "the daily sacrifice" is translated, (Dan. 8: 12, 13; 11: 31 and 12: '11) is "Hatamid" and signifies continuance or that which is determined. It has a direct reference to the Passover. It points to a Passover-act similar to the one that the Egyptians realized on the dreadful night when Israel stood ready to sever their bonds of servitude from them. The word "Hatamid" points to the Paschal-institution and to the Passover-act connected therewith. These two acts are inseparable even in the spiritual dispensation. It is on account of the time intervening between the evening and morning, that the Passover-act seems to be lost. Moses was told to put the children of Israel in remembrance of that act which to them was so important, also to observe the ordinance from year to year. Moses said:

"And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service. And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses." (Ex. 12: 24-27.)

That event, with respect to its future fulfillment, is called "Hatamid" in the prophecy; it signifies that a similar act will take place at the morning ctf the Day of the Lord. It is determined that it will occur in connection with the movement of the host and the sanctuary when the dispersed tribes are to be brought up to the throne of the Messiah.

Fifth. "The place of his sanctuary was cast down." In order to understand what constitutes the place of the sanctuary of the Prince of the covenant, we must first know what constitutes the sanctuary of the same Prince. It will be necessary therefore to consider more carefully the duality of the dispensation of God.

The Abomination of Desolation Dual Plan

"The Abomination of Desolation" is the name the revealing angel gives the power that lays waste the institution of the Messiah and that keeps His people bound to its own sanctuary and host. He reveals its progressive works and says:

"It waxed great, and magnified itself to the Prince, and trampled down the host and the sanctuary. .. And he shall have Intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant and his arms (armies) shall pollute the sanctuary and take away the daily (Hatamid), and they shall spread the abomination that desolates." (Dan. 8: 10; 11: 30, 31.)

Rome conquered the surrounding nations and absorbed their religious institutions as well as their temporal institutions; hence the final theology of Rome embraced many gods, and different kinds of religious worship were tolerated. In that *ay the Babylonian system of worship was adopted, also the trinity and incarnation doctrines. After Rome had murdered the Messiah and some of his apostles and had destroyed the Jewish nation and its temple, it adopted the name Jesus Christ among the names of their gods. Thus it spread its abomination—its temple and worship—while at the same time it trampled down or brought under its power the place of the sanctuary of God. The prophecy reveals its work of abomination and shows that it continues until the end of the time of the Gentiles.

The GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM TO COME

THE COMING KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

In the parable of the tares. Christ shows how "his kingdom"—the earth and the righteous people of God—suffers violence at the hands of the children of the devil, who bring about "things that offend… and iniquity," and extend themselves with their power and authority over all of God's good gifts; also how the two classes like a ripe harvest at the end of the age are placed in two different conditions. The tares are tied up in bundles—connected with the thrones of kaisers and kings, to whom they have sworn allegiance —and thrown into "a furnace of fire," there to reap what they have sown.

Abraham within the materialized kingdom of heaven. Christ says in Mat. 8: 11, 12, "Many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." He does not say that he shall take his elect "above the sky," but that "the children of the kingdom shall be cast out."

Christ's enemy, the devil, took such complete possession of the kingdom when he succeeded in annihilating the adherents of the throne of David, that he made the murderer pope and lord of the church. And this Antichrist continues to "corrupt by flatteries .. . such as do wickedly against the covenant: but the people that do know their God [El-Shaddai] shall be strong and do exploits. And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days." (Dan. 11:32, 33.) All of this will be experienced in the future by the followers of Christ, who testify against the Mammonistic encroachers within the kingdom of God. Thereupon the prophet says concerning the antichristian king, the pope, "But in his estate shall be honor the god of forces [Mauzzim, see margin] ."—v. 38.

Luther says that "Mauzzim means the god of strongholds [fortifications], palaces, and excessive churches. That god shall he [Antichrist] honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things." Therefore are his children decorated with these costly things. The rich man moved into the kingdom of heaven and has since then suppressed the children of faith.—See Luke 16:15-31.

The prophet continues, "Thus shall he do in the most strongholds [fortresses of munitions, see margin] with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain." —Dan. 11:39.

This shows how the territory of the kingdom of God has been stolen from the people through violence and treachery, also how those who have preached a false gospel have been elevated to the honorary thrones of this power. There is manifestly a great difference between the children of the kingdom and the servants of the kingdom. Servants have no rights, only obligations. But "the high gentry" have only rights, privileges, nonassessable property, and tax exempt institutions. How long, then, shall the violators possess the kingdom of God? "Until the time of the Gentiles be fulfilled," says the Messiah.—Luke 21: 24.

The Master said to the disciples who were with him in, his sufferings and who were servants in the kingdom, "I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel." (Luke 22:28-30.) Only one kingdom—one that bears resemblance to the one David was king over—can come in question here, inasmuch as Christ was born to be King over the house of Jacob. Surely, no one will claim that the throne of David was set up in the so-called "pleasant land in heaven"? In verses 13 to 18 of the same chapter Christ says that he will not "drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come." Grapes are a product of the earth, not of heaven.

In what has been mentioned above there is no room for doubt as to what kingdom is referred to. But in order that no one should be misled concerning the means Christ is going to bring into play in order to regain possession of the kingdom, and concerning how it is to pass into the hands of those "bringing forth the fruits therof," we wish to quote the judgment of the Scriptures respecting this question.

4. The delivery of the kingdom to the inheritors. When one nation conquers another a battle of life and death is fought. The possessors desperately oppose those of the conquering side and consider them enemies. So even here. The battle between Christ and Antichrist is described in nearly all the writings of the prophets of God.

BOOK OF LOGOS

XXII. The Great War Storm

The God of the dispersed tribes of Israel has given them the following express command concerning their restoration to a national power:

"Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent." (Zeph. 3: 8, 9.)

Before the Israelitic movement takes place, i.e., the gathering of the laboring masses and their going forward in common to a definite goal, the hold and influence of the Turkish power over Palestine must come to an end. That country, first of all, belongs to the dispersed tribes and must therefore, prior to their redemption from Babylon, be accessible to them. But as long as the great powers of Europe support the sultan's sovereignty over Palestine it remains in the control of the Mohammedans and as such inaccessible to any large numbers of other races.

The Berlin Tract must be dissolved, and then, according to the 11th chapter of Daniel, the power of the North will be engaged in a war with the power that controls the South. These two powers are none others than Russia and England, and prophecy directly points out these two powers as the principal champions in the great world war, and with them the other powers will ally themselves. These two powers will vie with one another for supremacy, and both will endeavor, not only to conquer one another, but to gain supremacy over the whole world. The power in the extreme Northwill eventually come out victorious, and will then also get Palestine under its ruling power. But while the battle between these two powers is being fought, the labor movement increases in speed and gains the object determined in the prophecy.

In this connection we will quote what we wrote concerning Russia and England a decade ago with respect to their destiny pointed out in advance by prophecy:

Russia in the Light of Prophecy

In the 38th and 39th chapters of Ezekiel there is a description concerning the war movements of Russia in the latter days, or at the time when the tribes of Israel are to be gathered and restored into the Covenant of God. The Lord speaks thus to the prophet: "Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, Thus saith the LORD God, Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the North quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee. Be thou prepared, and prepare thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them." (Ez. 38:2-7.)

All these names show, when their original meaning is known, that the very territories and people over which the Russian throne rules, is the object of the prophecy. The name Gog was in the Orient the name of the politic body within a kingdom. Magog, or Scythia, is the steppe lands situated North and north-east of Caucasus and the Caspian Sea, just the very territories now subject to the Russian power.

Rosh, or really Russia. (For some to us unknown reason the word Rosh is left out in the English and the German Bibles, whereas it occurs in the Hebrew-English Bible, the Swedish, French and a half dozen other languages we at present have access to. Translator's remark.) "The prince of Rosh," might therefore be rendered the ruler of Russia. Meshech and Tubal constitute the principal parts of Russia, Meshech being Moscow within Europe and Tubal or Tobolsk in Central Asia.

Gomer, or Crimeans, originally constituted a colony North of the Black Sea, and it is very likely that by them the Crimean peninsula was named. Togarmah, or the land of the Turkomans, belongs to North Asia.

Persians, Ethiopians and Libyans (in the Hebrew-English Bible, Persia, Cush, and Put) are races in East-Asia, and they have close connections with the Russian possessions in the Turkoman territories. Persia is linked with the pass east of Caucasia, and on that kingdom Russia is dependent in her war-expedition to Palestine. Persia is also considered as an ally of Russia in the latter's East-Asian activities.

Ethiopia is a remnant of the Cushites, and appears to have reference to China. And through the East-Asian events, developing as a result of the war between Japan and China, the latter has attached herself to Russia and is naturally supporting her activities against the power of England in Asia.

England in the Light of Prophecy

"In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea." (Is. 27:1.)

This prophetic saying is linked with the gathering of Israel in the latter days — the day of the Lord's wrath or the time of visitation. There, under the name of Leviathan, a naval power is signified which, with the rapidity of a sea-serpent, coils both over seas and lakes, making its circuits at the shores.

This Leviathan is undoubtedly the naval power which will constitute the principal power at the breaking out of and continuation of the great world war, and as such it will be feared by other naval powers in the manner the Leviathan, or hippopotamus is feared by smaller animals in the sea. England is in possession of this maritime power, and has for many years been feared because of her superior fleet. She continues to increase her naval power in preparation to a long expected collision with Russia. By naming the world's greatest iron-clad Leviathan, England has also sanctioned this name as applicable on her naval power.

Just as certain as Russia is the power indicated by prophecy to be "the power in the extreme North ," that certain it is that England is the power indicated by the same prophet to be "the power of the South."

If we then place Constantinople before us as the center, and principal object for the controversy of these powers with one another, we find that Russia is situated directly North of Constantinople and that England, in her relation with Turkey, is holding the protectorate over Egypt, which is situated directly South of Constantinople, and then, besides this, England is controlling the principal inlets and outlets from Gibraltar to India.

It is the pope, or the Baal-father, who from the point of view of prophecy, is the object of the war, but it is through Constantinople and its fall the combat is brought into action, hence it appears as though the war-movement concerned the Turkish power, but this power serves only as an inlet for the combatant powers to destroy Babylon. When the European powers divide, what they for a long time have called "the bear skin" — the Turkish territory — then one can expect that the encounter between the power of the North , and that of the South is imminent. According to conditions now prevailing it appears as if we were approaching this division. A clipping from the English newspaper, The Daily News, might serve as an elucidation in this respect:

"Russia is now seeking the consent of the powers to divide Turkey. Russia suggests that it takes Armenia and the Asiatic provinces as far as Alexandretta, also Constantinople. France is to receive Syria, Palestine and Jerusalem. England Egypt and the east coast of the Persian Gulf, Austria Serbia and Macedonia, Italy Tripoli, and Greece Thessaly, Crete and the islands in the Asiatic Sea," etc.

The rumors, provoking the great war expedition, will, according to Daniel, chapter 11, come from the East and the North. Armenia is situated directly east of Constantinople, and it is obvious that the rumors coming from there are calling out the naval fleets of the nations. They all realize that the time is near at hand for the dissection of Ishmael's domain.

England, because of her connection with Egypt and India, is compelled to meet all advancing movements of Russia. Finally, when England is completely occupied by suppressing the distressed people under her oppressing power in Africa, India and the islands, Russia, with a great number of troops, will go to war against her rival of the Asiatic supremacy, and this kindles the flames of the world war everywhere, both in Europe and Asia. Then the way will be opened for the return march of Israel. And it is then the time of redemption arrives for the masses slaving in Babylon.

The

Revolving Mountain

or

Danger Ahead

"Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate."

C. and J. Lee

The more we study the land-question in the light of the word of God, the better we can comprehend why Christ and his followers were persecuted unto death. They raised their voice against them who by unrighteousness oppressed the people and robbed the gifts of God from the poor, and hence the priests, who especially enjoyed the property attached to their churchly positions besides other, from the people gather ed income, inspired their subject to demolish such impostors to their social standing.

The following, which we quote from the Constitution of the Jewish nation, is based on the special command of the true Owner of the world and constitutes the fundamental rules concerning the soil.

"1. God is the Creator and Lord of the universe.

The universe is his own.

To man the use of all created things has been entrusted by his will.

God is therefore the King of the people.

The soil is only given to the people for the usufruct: man has no further individual right of possession over it.

Every seventh year it is to be left to itself.

The sale of land is prohibited.

After seven times seven years every lease and mortgage of it is null and void, and is to return to those it originally was assigned to."

The above rules are beautiful and righteous and directly oppose the system of land robbery: The soil is left with the people on the same basis as sunshine, air, and water—no man has any more right to it than another. Whosoever works it has a heaven-given right to use it, but not to make it his private property. And those that do not work it have no right to hold it under their power. If the governments were based on true principles, they should guard the right of every individual to inherit the use of so much land as he needs for a comfortable living, with the right to sell his improvements, but not the soil. In that way every individual complying with the rule, "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread", would have a free access to the soil. Just think what a blessing that would be to the poor! Now, instead, the land robbing institution allows one man to hold as his private property millions of acres, while millions of working families are at the verge of starvation for the want of a piece of land. How could Christ approve of such abomination? What he taught his followers in regard to the land-question is expressed in the testimony given about the apostolic church which reads as follows:

"And all that believed were together, and had all things common: and sold their possessions and goods, And parted them to all men as every man had need. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands and houses, sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold." (Acts 2: 44. 45; 4: 34. 35.)

Such was the influence the gospel of Jesus Christ brought to the minds of the believers. And let us now see what influ

ence the church of the world and its gospel brings to its followers. The prophecy concerning that institution regarding the land-question is as follows: It refers first to the head leader, sitting on the throne of Baal, and then to the position of them who sustain his terrestrial and ecclesiastical power:

"Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women (oppose marriage among the clergy), nor regard any God: for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces (the institutions of the brick creation) : and a God whom his fathers (the first Christians) knew not, shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many and shall divide the land for gain." (Dan. 11: 37-39.)

That prophetic description sets forth very plainly the condition now existing in all the Christian lands, where the church of the world rules. Here are some samples from the Christian England. Only a few such exemples of that most unjust and murderous system, which the modern Christian church indorses and holds as a divine and providential institution, will be sufficient to prove that neither Christ nor any human being that practices the fundamental doctrine of heaven—"Love thy neighbor as thyself," can approve of or sanction that institution as being humane, much less an ordinance of a righteous God.

Doctrine of Christ

IX. What is God's Purpose with the World War?

Who owns this world? Did the Almighty lay its brick foundation? No. This man-created world is the result of deception and robbery practiced on Adam and on all his children. The Deceiver as the father of falsehood and death is the founder and god of this man-creation of towers, temples, cities and cormorant institutions with their ever increasing taxations and military occupations and carnage. Adam was told to eat of the forbidden fruit and Satan said assuredly: "Ye shall not surely die." By this lie Adam fell into servitude under sentence of death, losing his God-given Paradise and became the bond-slave of the devil — an angel who rebelled against the Logos-developing plan of God with man. Then when it no longer could be believed that man should not die, the old serpent invented that immortal-soul-theory, and, as a finishing point, that the immortal soul goes to a heaven of bliss when the body dies. All this is the gospel of the god of this world, Mauzzim, the protector of manmade gods. Jesus met this arch-deceiver and He tells us how he subdues and honors his servants. First on the bread question they bow in obedience to this command and then the next step is the desire of all to get a footing in this world, and there Satan gets a grand hold. He tried his system of deception and threat on the Son of man, but found Him immovable against the deception. We can realize how he works on every one who enters the field as a servant of Jehovah by reading the following in Luke 4:5-7:

"And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine."

Jesus spurned Satan's offer, and the next time He met him through the priests and the judge, and the military forces that protect the kingdom the devil has built with the productive ability of the deceived, Jesus said:

"My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence." (John 18:36.)

This shows how false the claim of the pope is. Jesus can have no "Vicar" when He rejects the kingdom represented by that deceiver's throne and the real "holy father" of the man-made triune god. Paul speaks of that god in this way:

"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake." (2 Cor. 4:3-5.)

Jesus spoke of the new creation as the goal of our faith and so did His disciples, but all the deceivers "save immortal souls to heaven" in the old creation, whereof it is written:

"But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." (2 Pet. 3:7.)

Now compare Dan. 11:31-41 speaking of "the king" that persecutes the covenant people and glories in slaying the witnesses of the truth, trying to subdue all people under his autocratic throne of both so-called "spiritual" and temporal power.

"And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women (his priests are forbidden to marry, but not to abuse women) nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his estate shall he honour the God (Mauzzim) of forces (military power) : and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain." (A tax collected in every land his "cardinals" rule.)

Then the autocrats have divided, like Nimrod, all the land among themselves, and the one that refuses to worship the Dagon god of Mauzzim must die — as Jesus, the protestant Reformer — a marked "heretic," or under some other death mark. By reading Luke 16:19-31 we get a good description of the two classes and "the change" — when the Resurrection reveals the new creation with the sufferers in the bosom of Abraham in joy and comfort, on one side, and on the other, the one in royal splendor, that fared sumptuously every day in this world; both are placed in their true positions — that will appear during the thousand years of judgment. When their appointed time is up, we meet the following decree from Jehovah's prophet, who said that:

"Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled." (Luke 21:24.)

"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences; and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake." (Mat. 24:7-9.)
