You've heard of the Growth Mindset, I'm sure. It's when we all realize that we ALL can push ourselves to be better at something, even if it's something we're good at to begin with. Even if, say, Math isn't your best subject, you can still IMPROVE. Even if you're a whiz at basketball, you can still IMPROVE.
To grow, improve, we have to REACH out and push ourselves. Sometimes drift out of our comfort zones. Try a new method. Look at something from a different perspective.
This English unit will be connected by this idea of REACHING OUT, moving forward and upward, as human beings (not just students). There will be readings of various sorts, videos, writing, vocabulary, maybe even a little grammar.
As always, the lesson slides will be posted here so you can revisit (or catch up). Assignments will vary in points--to keep track of them all, view the spreadsheet below.
You can earn a LOT OF ENGLISH POINTS by coming to class (and putting your phone away), asking questions, and doing the assignments.
