Braided Lives
This anthology (collection of stories) contains many writings from several different multi-cultural perspectives. The book is divided into four non-white American traditions of writing: Native American, African-American, Hispanic-American, and Asian-American.
You will receive UP TO 3 POINTS EACH for choosing one story (title), reading it, creating an artwork or poem that relates to the story, and completing the written response.
Notice: you can repeat this for each of the stories, which gives you a couple of dozen opportunities. Try to vary the cultural perspective as you go, or you may choose to go in order.
If you wish to complete a different type of creative response (other than the artwork or poem), run your idea past Ms. Olson. You must, however, complete the written response.

Sea Change: An Anthology of Short Stories is a collection of short stories by some of the best writers of our times. However, these are all rather difficult stories, and will require work to go through. Your teacher is more than willing to help you with these readings and responses, however! Up to 6 points each.
