Justin Zhao: The Johns Hopkins University Institute for Nanobiotechnology (INBT)

Hey all, my name is Justin Zhao and I am a rising senior at Montgomery High School. This summer I have the opportunity to work under the Associate Director of the Institute for NanoBioTechnology (INBT) Dr. Hai-Quan Mao at The Johns Hopkins University. His lab specifically focuses on using Flash Nanoprecipiation/Nanocomplexation (FNP & FNC) to create nanoparticles that are used to improve therapeutic drug delivery. My project specifically aims at create Aluminum Hydroxide (AlOH) nanoparticles to be used as vaccine adjuvants to improve the immune response to a virus or pathogen.

Week 1:

Prior to arriving on campus, I was given a couple scientific papers for me to read in order to better understand the project I would be working on.
