STEM Opportunities

This is a picture of a synthetic mineral taken through a microscope at Dr. Sang Wook Cheong's lab at Rutgers University. MHS graduate Shivani Shukla completed an internship in Dr. Cheong's lab during the summer of 2014 under the Liberty Science Center's Partners in Science program, where she studied the resistivities of different multiferroic compounds over a wide range of temperatures. The internship helped her apply what she had learned in Physics and Science Olympiad and advance scientific knowledge in the emerging field of multiferroics.

There are many science enrichment programs available to high school students seeking to further their knowledge. In addition, there are many summer internships and camps that can provide you with experience in real world scientific issues, research and networking. Finally, there are individual and collaborative competitions and science fairs that allow you to exercise your creativity and explore many different fields in science. The following links and pages will help you find such opportunities.
