Advanced Searches Using "Find and Replace"
How to search for Item by "Status"
ITEM STATUS
b=IN BINDERY
d=DAMAGED
i=IN PROCESS
m=MISSING
o=ON ORDER
t=IN TRANSIT
w=WITHDRAWN
Click the down arrow on the "catalog" button and select "cataloging tools"
Select "find and replace" and then change the "bibliographic" drop down to "bib-holdings"
Here is a sample search to look up items marked as missing:
See the image below where 994#a is circled. This tells the system to perform a search in the 994a field of all records instead of "anywhere". The field typed in the box next to "anywhere" will always override the search parameters contained in the drop down to the left of it. In the box below that, enter the letter "m" (just as circled below) and click "search" to retrieve all holdings marked missing.
The image below shows the results for the search. You can retrieve the details for the holding and bibliographic record by clicking on the icons on the right.
RUN A REPORT TO DISPLAY ITEMS WITH A SPECIFIC STATUS
Note: Keep in mind that you can also run a report from the "M5 Report App" which will provide a list for a specified holding "status". The name of the report is "Holdings by selected item status" under the "item lists" category.
