• Understand and contextualize volcanic processes on the Eastern Snake River Plain

Research Interests

Physical volcanology, igneous petrology, science communication, geohazards, remote sensing, planetary geology 

Tasks for 8/24:

• Write down a couple of questions about the USGS reading to ask them

• Need to do defensive driver course for INL vehicle (after badge receipt)

• Ask HD about doing a visitor pass for you and SKN for orientation visit; ride with SKN

• Follow up with BT about laptop. We don't have the right software on campus. A student license is $495 (https://www.rockware.com/product/logplot/). Alternatively, can you use VPN to a remote desktop with access? (They would need to check with their IT)

• Watch for Emburse access; work with SKN to do travel pre-approval

• {SKN contact J about getting hold re-lifted; Register for remaining classes}

• Email Di Wu about registration override for 5528

• Read/summarize:

• Chat with DS

• Read/summarize: USGS reading list (will not finish this week)

• Decide about laptop

• {SKN: find out if ISU has LogPlot software}

• Possible cores: B-47* (near B-01, has some odd paleomag) or USGS-153 (near CFA, nothing has been logged near there recently, more relevant to plume tracking)

• Field trip reflection

• Coordinate with USGS team for core library visit (8/28?)

Tasks for week 8/10:

• Reply to Haley about USGS/INL access

• Populate upper portion of this website: photo, brief info about goals, space for project description, etc. Think in terms of public facing. Make it yours

• Get Bengal ID

• Fill out driver authorization form (need EPAF finished first)

  • Find WA license number

• Get key from JoMax

• Once assigned, get desk set up

• Think about research themes of high/low interest

• Read/summarize papers:
