Seminar Fall 2012: Mammoth Lakes Area, CA

Introduction: The Fall 2012 Seminar class in ISU Geosciences took on the Mono Lake, Long Valley, and Yosemite areas of eastern California, along with some stops in Nevada. Students read and discussed relevant papers, and put together topical presentations to guide the class through a variety of topics in the field (October 13-19). The weather in the field was amazing, and we got to do everything from hang out inside of a caldera to traverse an exhumed batholith and explore an underground gold mine in action. Drawing on their research and experiences in the field, participants put together SlideRocket presentations (slides plus audio) to share what we learned with everyone else. Please take a look at the links below for a by-topic recap of our trip.
