Forest Lake offers secondary Spanish Immersion classes that build upon our elementary immersion program. These are advanced courses available to students who have previously been enrolled in Spanish Immersion. These courses are taught in Spanish and provide a natural next step for students as they continue to develop their Spanish communication and writing skills.
Students who take Immersion Spanish 7 earning high school graduation credits prior to 9th grade. The credit and grade earned in the course will be reflected on their high school transcript and calculated into their high school G.P.A.
This is a course that will continue development of students’ proficiency and awareness of the Spanish language with connections to their own. This course is designed to develop and build students’ grammatical structures and vocabulary to increase literacy and fluency in reading & writing.
This is a course that will continue development of students’ proficiency and cultural awareness. Themes such as identity, stereotypes, and discrimination will be explored through a variety of country-focused cultural units. There is a focus on understanding grammar constructions and increasing students’ literacy skills in Spanish.
(Founding Documents-Progressive Era)
Course focus is U.S. History from the founding documents through the Progressive Era. There is a strong secondary emphasis on citizenship, government, economics and geography.
(Progressive Era-Present)
Course focus is U.S. History Progressive Era through the present. There is a strong secondary emphasis on citizenship, government, economics and geography.
