Interactive Notebook & Doodle Notes:

We will be creating interactive notebooks (INBs) throughout Science 9 this year that will include templates and sketch notes that you will do while listening to read alouds in class.

Blank templates for your INB can be found in the INB Templates OR Doodle Notes Templates headings listed at the top of this page. If templates have come from other sources, I have cited them and will provide a link to TPT store to purchase.

Read Alouds used in this Unit:

"A Mother's Work" from Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer

"Pass the POPs" From Uncle John's Bathroom Reader Plunges into the Universe

"The Sacred and The Superfund" from Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer

"Fixing Greenhouse Gases" from Caesar's Last Breath by Sam Kean

Algal Bloom Experiment:

Students are provided with a variety of materials and pond water in order to design an experiment with the aim of creating the "biggest" algal bloom.

Here is a little TikTok video showing one way of setting this up: Algal Bloom Experiment
