Interactive Notebook:

We will be creating interactive notebooks (INBs) throughout Science 7 this year.  You may be responsible for cutting & pasting components for the next day's notes into your book before next class.  You can do so at home or at school during lunch, breaks or after school but they must be complete prior to the next class.

Blank templates for your INB can be found in the INB Templates folder listed at the top of this page.  If templates have come from other sources, I have cited them and will provide a link to TPT store to purchase.

Pictures below can guide you in organizing your INB if you miss classes but keep in mind work that is to be completed by you, as an 'output' will not be shown.  You can always talk with me or with your fellow students about what might be included for those.

Human Impacts - Agriculture and Soil

We start to shift our thinking here to how humans impact the ecosystem by trying to meet our basic needs.

First we looked at several plants and their products that we use every day using the 3D Interactive Plant Sort activity.

Next, we looked at the difference between soil and regolith and worked through several lab stations with our Soil Characteristics lab.

Note: There is overlap with this activity in the Interactions and EcoSystems unit therefore it is found in both places.

Using Plants as Crops

Here we look at how plants grow and reproduce through the eyes of how we use various parts of plants as crops and food sources.

We will be using what we find out here, together with our Soil Story information, to plan which seeds we will plant and try to grow throughout the year.

3D Interactive Plant Sort Activity

This Interactive Plant Activity is great for showing students how plants influence so many areas of our lives.

Soil & Regolith Properties Station Lab

This was a fun interactive way to learn more about soil properties & to compare Earth soil to our Mars and Moon Regolith samples.
