OnLine Art with Mrs. Buchner

3-31-20 making clay & tree faces

Tuesday, March 31 Art Challenge

Your challenge today is to make clay. You will need an adult to help with this because it needs to be cooked on the stove. Once it is done and cooled you can use it to make anything you want. If you leave it out in the air to dry overnight it will get hard and you can color it with crayons, markers or paint. The clay recipe is on the video and also below.

Challenge: Make a clay and go outside and make a tree face.

If you want to do challenges from other days, you can find them all here: Art Challenge Archives.

Air Dry Clay Recipe

2 cups baking soda 1-1/4 cup water 1 cup cornstarch

Mix all ingredients together in a pan. Cook over medium heat for 7 - 10 minutes until mixtures reaches mashed potato-like consistency, stirring constantly. When done remove from pan and cool 30 - 60 minutes under a damp towel. When cool knead together. Store in plastic air-tight container.

While you are at home you can still share your artwork with Mrs. Buchner! Here's a quick and easy way to do it:
