Elementary Art 2023 -2024

This year upper elementary will be exploring art around the world! Each month we will virtually visit another country and learn the art history, folk art and contemporary artists. 3rd through 5th grade will also cover the seven elements of art: line, value, color, shape, form, space and texture. We will continue working on projects that enforce this learning and covering the visual art standards: create, respond, connect and present. 

Lower elementary will continue with fundamentals such as fine motor skills, color mixing, imagination and creativity. We will also cover the various materials used in art such as painting, drawing, sculpting, printmaking & more. 

TAG art will be delving into advanced processes not typically covered in class such as carving, advanced painting techniques, sculpture and more. TAG will also be every Friday for both Stoddard and Prairie View.
