On Line Art with Mrs. Buchner

Make a Game

March 16 Art Challenge

For your first art challenge, use materials around your house to make a game. It can be a board game, a card game, a pinball game--anything you want. Mrs. Buchner used a piece of paper and markers to create a game called "Flowers and Fly Traps". You flip pennies to try and score points! Silas built a game using cardboard to shot beads at two hoops. Check it out in the video below!

While you are at home you can still share your artwork with Mrs. Buchner! Here's a quick and easy way to do it:

  • Ask Mom or Dad to take a picture with their phone.
  • Text the picture to mbuchner@desoto.k12.wi.us. Yes, you can text to an e-mail. (Of course you can also e-mail it). I will be sharing art from kids in upcoming videos.

Challenge Accepted

Jose made a hockey game using cardboard and egg cartons. You get one point every time you score a goal. Neveah made a game called Candy Jump. Using paper cards with different colors you draw a card then with a game piece (small piece of paper ) you go from one color to the next until one person gets to the finish. Esme made Table Scotch, where you start out with 4 pennies (one penny game piece other to flip) flip 1 penny heads move to 1 even numbered space, tails odd number,10 being off or even first person to 10 wins.

Josie came up with "witches and potions." Roll 2 dice and move what the dice reads. If you land on a potion every turn of yours you have to draw a card until you draw a potion card and then you can move. If you land on a broom stick you must go back to the beginning. If you land on the red arrow you get to take the shortcut!! Winner is the first person to the end!!
