AP Macroeconomics is one of six advanced placement courses offered in the Social Studies Department. AP Macroeconomics is offered the first semester of a student's senior year, and meets 1/2 of the student's required full year of senior social studies. AP Macroeconomics attempts to understand the economic system as a whole. There is an emphasis on the study of national income, price-level determination, and student's familiarity with economic performance measures, the financial sector, stabilization policies of the government, economic growth, and international economics. Economics is one of the most in demand degrees in college and background in economics is important in many fields.

AP US Government and Politics is one of six advanced placement courses offered in the Social Studies Department. AP US Government & Politics is offered the second semester of a student's senior year, and meets 1/2 of a student's required full year of senior social studies. AP US Government and Politics asks students to analyze concepts used to interpret US government and politics, and interpret specific examples. Students will also become familiar with various institutions, groups, beliefs, and ideas that make up Us government and politics.

* Students in this course will have to complete the Civi Education Project required on ALL seniors in District 211 social studies.
