We are just one week away and I'm sure that everyone is getting more and more excited. Thank you for visiting the site regularly to look for answers to common questions and retrieve copies of forms as needed. This final week you should be gathering all of the items you will need to take on the trip and putting together a list of questions for your hiking group meeting on Thursday. You should be able to get most questions answered there.
If you want to see current conditions or view a web cam of some location near where we are staying, view these two locations:
http://ca.water.usgs.gov/webcams/happyisles/ - about a mile up the valley from where we will stay.
http://www.yosemiteconservancy.org/webcams/view-ahwahnee-meadow - the Ahwahnee Meadow just across the road from our camp.
Please continue to visit the web site this week and next for important updates,
--Mary Enright
Common Questions at this time
1. What time do we have to be at school and what time will we return?
You will receive details of our departure and return at the lunch meeting, and you can see the essentials on the departure notes on this web site. Please make sure to complete the sheet at the lunch meeting so your family has all your specific information.
2. What if I have a conflict on Sunday, and my family wants to drive me to Yosemite on Sunday?
Please contact Mrs. Enright by email as soon as possible so we can make those arrangements (mrsenright@gmail.com). There are some important papers for you to pick up in the office on Thursday or Friday.
3. How much money should I bring?
You should bring some cash in case you need to replace your room key ($3.00 each time it is lost). Other than that, your family can decide if you have spending money for the store near camp. We will be providing a snack for the way home, so you don't need to have any money for dinner on Friday.
4. What if I have questions about the medications I'm supposed to drop off?
If you received an instruction sheet for medication, then you need to drop off that medication in the office by Thursday. This includes medications that you will self-administer. If you have questions, please call the number on the instruction sheet or email Mrs. Enright (mrsenright@gmail.com)
5. What if I have changes to my health status, insurance, or other information that I submitted before?
If there are any changes, please print out another copy of the Nature Bridge Registration form and fill it out again. Drop it off as soon as possible. (Everything has to be copied before we leave.)
6. I received a note about my PE restrictions and I'm not clear what it means to be "off trail".
Off trail means that you have to stay in a cabin instead of going out hiking or skiing. Typically this is because you are ill and in bed. However, if your physical limitations means that you cannot hike moderately for several days, then this might be an issue. This form is used to see if we need to plan any alternative, lower impact, activities for you or if those will not be sufficient to keep you outside every day. Please turn those forms in as soon as possible, so we can make appropriate plans.
