Good Morning Yosemite Families,
We have everyone off on the trail this morning. We had a few raindrops last night and this morning, but now we have a glorious sunny day. The temperature is in the 50's and it is comfortable. The snow is melting off the rooftops and the raindrops are providing a relaxing rhythm to set the tone for the day.
I heard from Crane Flat this morning, and the Trees Rotation is doing well. Everyone is out on the trail, and, I'm told, they had a great evening. Tomorrow morning Rotation 2- Rocks and Rotation 1 will be trading places. This morning in the valley the trail groups are headed to many locations around the valley. Many will visit Lower Yosemite Falls, others will be headed the other direction towards Mirror Lake. Today's activities are designed by Yosemite Institute to build a new community of friends by playing games, learning about each other, and taking and sharing new roles of responsibility. It is a great way to start a new week.
The bus trip yesterday was uneventful. We left on schedule and the buses arrived on time. I'm told that Bus C, the Stars Rotation, enjoyed a round of applause every time someone chose to use the restroom on the bus. It was a fun trip, and they were bonding early.
I'm able to post to twitter regularly, however my connection onto the Internet is somewhat limited. If you ever need to reach me or your child, please contact the school (408) 245-0303 and they can assist to get a message to us.
I'll be posting pictures today from our night hike and from various locations to give you a sense of our surroundings. I have to say, this is one of my favorite places to spend a week. Thankfully everyone is in good spirits, and in good health.
Stay tuned for more info.
Best,
Mary Enright
