Dear Yosemite Families,
It is hard to believe that we have been home from Yosemite for a week already. Despite the weather and other uncontrollable challenges, I can tell from reading my students' journals that the week was filled with fun and enriching experiences. Ideas that stood out for all of us are:
Value of Team Work
Anyone and everyone is on your Team
Push yourself to new limits, the juice is worth the squeeze
Understand and appreciate your connection to others and to nature
Be Patient, and Tolerant
I know this experience will live with me for a life time and I hope it is as long-lasting for all the students and families.
As we wrap up the details for this year I wanted to list some important items for all the students.
1. Thank your parents and family for supporting you on this trip.
2. Thank Mrs. Butler when you see her on campus for her continued support of this important experience.
3. If you see a district official like the Superintendents on campus, tell them about the trip and how important it was to you.
4. Think twice about the resources you use; keep using your refillable water bottles every day at school!
5. Remember all the themes from the day and pull them from your mind when the going gets tough at home, school or anywhere in your life.
Some business items:
6. Pick up all lost and found items by Friday, April 1. (Room 3) (See the web page for the list.)
7. Return all borrowed equipment in clean, dry condition by Friday, April 1.
8. Donate any items you think you won't use, but would be helpful for a student next year.
9. Pick up any prescription medication in the office
Lastly, Thank you all for the wonderful book of thank you notes. It is really very moving, when you can see your work and passion valued by others. It is always a pleasure and privilege to bring this experience to our middle school students at Cupertino Middle School.
Best,
Mary Enright
