We would like every student in 8th grade to attend this important trip, but in order to protect the safety and well-being of all the students, we have established basic behavior standards.
They are listed here and in your planner/calendar. This program is not mandatory and there is are alternative academic activities for those that do not attend.
Paperwork must be turned in on time and complete to hold your spot on the trip. Late paperwork will result in the student being placed on an auxiliary list.
Physical Ability and Health:
Students must be able to hike 5-7 miles every day of the trip, and not have any health problems that would interfere with their well-being under strenuous conditions.
If you are currently excused from P.E. we will be asking you to obtain a clearance from your doctor before you can attend.
If you are ill and absent from school on the Thursday or Friday before the trip, we may take your temperature prior to boarding the bus. Students who have been sick prior to the trip must be fever free with no symptoms for 24 hours.
Students who are unable to make the trip at the last minute due to illness may be able to attend the trip with another school during the subsequent weeks. Contact Jeanine Woodell if this applies to you.
