Unit 4 Project
For the last two chapters, you and 2 other people will be doing a webquest on Edo Japan to the Meiji Dynasty.
INTRODUCTION
We have looked at Edo, Japan and their Feudal system from the late 1100's to the mid 1800's. This form of societal structure was a way for the Japanese people to keep their caste system (class of structure that is determined by birth) in strict check.
While working on this webquest, you will be responding to a questions related to both the Edo and Meiji period. This information will then be used to create a final project that will help your audience better understand how isolation helped to develop the Japanese worldview and how contact with the western world create a shift in this worldview. You will also be responsible for showing us how this historical perspective has helped to create the unique worldview that is present in Japan today.
