If you are feeling stuck on something after three minutes of unsuccessful work, write a question about it and ASK that question. In Blackboard, the Discussion Board is a good place. Or ask your student group. Or email the teacher. Be aware that you may not have that question answered quickly, but be organized enough to use the answer when it does come. Then go to work on something else - a different problem, a different section, etc. There is always something else you can productively work on in the course if you are stuck by one thing.
Students who withdraw from the course have almost always spent too long stuck on something. Then they get behind (because they needed the time to be spent productively on something else) and/or frustrated.
You don't have to be frustrated. Ask.
