Using free web-based software:
StatKey (goes with our text) | Visualize applets for some calculations that StatKey doesn't do (from Mary Parker and Hunter Ellinger)
Data for our text: Follow this link to data (from the Wiley publishing company's "Student Companion site" for our text. Under the "Resources")
When you find the data you want, choose the "csv" option and right-click to download the file to your computer. Notice where it is being stored so that you can upload it into StatKey.
There are various ways to get data into StatKey. While you can just type it all in, that is tedious and annoying - not to mention hard to do completely correctly. If it is data on just one variable, we might just "copy and paste" it. We will almost always have the data in a file and just upload the file.
To import a data file in csv format, you first have to choose what analysis you want to do from the menu on the top page. When you import the file, the program knows what types of variables you need and asks you to select the ones you want from the data in your file (because your file may have more variables than you will analyze right then.)
