Exit ticket with Kahoot

Technology used: Chromebooks

Subject: Language arts, social studies, science and math

Common Core Standard(s):

All the content standards in the four major subjects depending on the topics are included, such as life science, parts of speech, operation base ten, geography etc.

After chapter 3 in the fifth grade life science lessons, my class was ready to take an exit ticket to review the information we covered. I put 11 basic questions from the text book into the online game called Kahoot. The students were excited to play because they had done their homework to receive the knowledge. They all had chrome books to give answers on. This game gives students instant feedback and shows their ranking, so they can become competitive. They were all eager to try their best. Even the most unmotivated students made a noticeable effort to learn, because playing Kahoot is fun and exciting. After all, games sound much cooler than tests.
