A little about me:

I have been teaching kindergarten at Monterey Highlands for 15 years. I love teaching kindergarten and am always looking for ways to integrate technology in my class. My favorite technology to use in class is our mini iPads. There are so many great apps: Todo Math, Phonics Farm, and Bugs and Numbers.

Step 4: Teacher will introduce PowerPoint and point out important features.

Step 6: Students will learn how to insert clip art.

Step 7: Students will publish their Informative Writing piece by creating a 4 slide PowerPoint presentation.

Step 8: Students will present their finished PowerPoint slideshow to the class.

Technology Insight & Tips

This is a lengthy project and may take one or two months for students to complete. It is helpful if students are introduced to typing before starting the PowerPoint portion. Modeling how to navigate through PowerPoint and using the already available templates are also important. Also, having time allotted in the computer lab is also helpful.
