HOOK:

When students walk in there will be a slideshow of animal mashups.

GUIDED PRACTICE

Guide students through a tutorial. Students are provided with two pictures that they will use to create a mashup. Teacher walks around to see if students need help or answer questions.

INDEPENDENT PRACTICE

Students find their own pictures of animals and create their own mashup. As the students are working on their final edit, teacher needs to walk around and help as needed, observing students and how they are working with Photoshop. In addition to creating the mashup, students need to name their animal and create a fact sheet based upon research about the two animals.

Technology Insight & Tips

Don't be afraid of technology. I've found that students love to share what they know . I've also learned that students need to be taught how to use technology more efficiently and effectively. Students tend to use technology the same way without thinking outside the box.
