SCSD CTE Advisory Board Meeting
November 3, 2016
Notes and impressions from the Advisory Board Student Round table will follow after the meeting.
The students and Alumni that were gracious enough to participate on the round table were:
Brandon Brown is a 12th grader in the CAD program. He is OSHA Certified and should receive a CTE CAD endorsement at graduation. He is currently on the Varsity Football team and plays Defensive Tackle, Offensive Tackle, Defensive End and Offensive Guard. He is hoping to play at HVCC next year. He is leaning toward a construction trade or engineering path. He will start in general studies or liberal arts.
Diamonique Bams is a 12th grader in the culinary program and has one class in CAD. She is hoping to go into the US Navy after graduation. This year she was elected secretary of the SCLA senior class. She is also a founding member of the SCLA Leadership Club.
Justin Houle is a 12th grader in the CAD program. He should be getting his OSHA certification this year. He is hoping to go to SCCC and is undecided, but is leaning toward political science.
Elijah Marshal is a 12th grader in the CAD program. He has his OSHA certification and will hopefully be getting his CAD CTE certification. You are currently is on the varsity football team. Plays running-back, fullback, and linebacker. Also has been a varsity wrestler. He is hoping to go to SCCC or HVCC and is leaning toward Engineering, with the hope of going to RPI after that.
Carlos Soto is and 12th grader in the culinary program. He should receive a CTE culinary endorsement when he graduates. He is thinking about going to school at SCCC or in North Carolina, and is leaning toward a career in culinary. He is currently Vice President of the senior class. His ultimate goal is to own his own restaurant in a major city.
Jasmine Perkins is a second semester sophomore at SUNY Cobleskill majoring in Information technology with a focus in Web Design and soon to switch into Cyber Security. I am OSHA Certified, I can work 3 different computer languages, which are Python Programming, HTML and CSS. Works with some students at the Schoharie ARC & I want to pursue a career within Cyber Security working criminal profiling. Jasmine took classes in the CAD and Culinary Programs.
Bradley Nethaway just graduated Basic Training and Advanced Infantry Training for the Army National Guard. Works at Home Depot in Schenectady. Is a volunteer firefighter and has taken Firefighter classes at SCCC. He is hoping to become a firefighter for one of the local departments. He was formerly in the Property Management Program which evolved into the CAD program.
Tanayrie Casiano is a junior in the culinary program, and is taking an art class. She is hoping to go to SCCC for culinary to start and then to move on to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York. She currently interested in either a career in Culinary or Forensics. She also interested in a career that could possibly take advantage of her Bilingual skills.
