Fall / Winter 2011

In celebration of the Philadelphia Writing Project's 25th anniversary, the collected pieces in this issue of the Journal come from two and a half decades of teacher inquiry, reflection, and writing.

Some pieces pay tribute to the transformational nature of the PhilWP Invitational Summer Institute I. Other pieces are artifacts from the institute and were written in response to prompts and assignments that should be familiar to those who have participated in professional development led by PhilWP teacher consultants.

When possible, dates and descriptions of the contexts in which the pieces were written are included. However, each piece could very well have been written today or twenty-five years ago because each is part of a consistent narrative, each is part of a collective spirit.
