It was during King George’s war, December 4, 1746, that John Hulet married Sarah Searle. John was a soldier in the French and Indian war. In his journeying with the troops, John had seen the good land in western Massachusetts. He decided to sellout in Connecticut and move west. In 1760 John purchased land near Lee, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, and moved his family there to settle it. In June 1782, John transferred land to his son Sylvanus Hulet.
