Tuskers CC

Sun 11th Sept Won by 9 wkts

With the tail-end of Hurricane Katia whizzing, Shutts Lane was a blowy old place to be for this final fixture of the season. Our visitors had travelled down from Kingston -on-Thames, and it was an apologetic fixture sec. who had been let down at the last minute by several of his players, thus arriving with only eight.

Skipper Vaughan won the toss again, and invited the watermen to take the chance of first knock, but they were no match for our boys and were reeling at 7-67. With only eight batsmen, Hoppy came up with an inspired wheeze! Why not allow them to throw their names in the hat to allow three to bat again. Smiles all round and in they went. Same result and all out for just 129. Opener Rob Bhrama proving the most resistant with a hard fought 53 n.o. James Wallis 3-14 & Jon Burton 4-24 doing the damage.

A grand tea provided by Lorraine-the cuddly one-Newman. Must get the recipe for that apple cake!

With the wind now stronger and rain threatening, "The Limpet" Dave Shaw metamorphorised into "The Whippet" Dave Shaw (53*) who set about the bowling as if his evening meal was going cold! Three sixes in a row, and with AJ (58) chasing the most sixes for the season, it was all over in just 11.3 overs.
