Bournemouth Wanderers

Sunday 26th June Won by 76 Runs

At last the proper cricket weather has come. Temperatures in the eighties, ice cream sales at a high and scorers in cheerful mood.

Stand in skipper for the day, Ant Jeffery, won the toss and elected to bat on a firm dry pitch and faced the opposition bowling of our old friends from the South Coast.

D.R.Shaw and Dom Duccilier opened the innings and disaster struck quickly in only the third over, when Duccilier lobbed an easy catch to Clifford from the deadly accurate bowling of Trapp, who returned the remarkable figures of 10-6-11-1. DRS(27) along with Matty Newman played his usual "get me out if you can" type of innings and thwarted the seasiders, before being trapped in front by Doust snr. in the 22nd over. Thus laying a firm foundation with 74 on the board. DRS certainly knows the time to get out as this saw AJ at the crease, who had been like a greyhound in the slips, waiting with pads on from start of play to get at the bowling! He certainly didn't disappoint, as he with partner Matt, set about the bowling with gusto, both being particularly savage against the wily spin of veteran Ash Malik, who if he ges the better, is capable of bowling a side out for not many!

The innings closed with a very respectable 210-4 on the board. Newman 87 & Jeffery 79 n.o.

Newman first change and Jeffery second change, then proved what they could do with the bat, they could equally do with the ball! Matt 3-20, AJ 3-16 -aided by smart fielding and catching, men of the match or what- to see our old friends and foes fail by 76 runs. Sesadia top scoring with a dogged 31.
