WED 8/19 – chapter 1 section 4 – Assess the value or importance of the Crusades, the Renaissance, the Reformation, technology, and the rise of the nation states on the exploration and settlement of the New World. THURS 8/20 – chapter 1 section 2-5 and chapter 2 section 1 – Describe the early European exploration. Describe the life of the Native Americans and Africans. What was the impact on both the Europeans and the Native Americans? chapter 2 sections 2,3 – How and why did African slavery begin in the English colonies? Describe the differences between the Jamestown colony and the Massachusetts Bay colony. Analyze the reasons for the banishment of Hutchinson and Williams.

FRI 8/21Explain why you would or would not be in favor of banishing Roger Williams and Anne Hutchinson from Massachusetts Bay. Justify your reasons. – Due FRI 8/21 (you may favor banishing one and not the other or banish both or neither) You need to have at least two reasons for both!!!

MON 8/24 – chapter 2 section 4 & chapter 3 sections 1,2&3 - Define mercantilism, Navigation Laws, salutary neglect, and the 1st Great Awakening. Compare and contrast the 3 areas of the colonies.

WED 8/26 – pp. 88-89 chapter 4 section 1 – List each act(s). Describe it and tell why England wrote it. What was the colonial reaction? (Navigation, Sugar, Stamp, Townshend, Declaratory, Intolerable)

THURS 8/27-FRI 8/28 – pp.100-112 - Examine why some colonists wanted to break away from England and why some did not. Describe the events of the War for Independence and the Treaty of Paris 1783

MON 8/31ESSAY – Were the colonial reasons for breaking away from England justified or were the English being reasonable. Justify your answer with at least two reasons.
