Attendance in external and base practice placements

We appreciate you may occasionally be unable to attend external and base placement. If you are unable to attend you must: 

• i. Inform your practice area 

• ii. Inform your personal supervisor/academic assessor 

• Iii. Inform your line manager 

• iv. Inform all when you are ready to return, even if this is on a day off for you. 

You will be recorded as absent until you do this. 

Additional external placement time cannot be arranged so you will be required to use additional ‘static spokes’ to meet any required proficiencies. 

Please document your absence in EOAR (MYEPAD) in your timesheets. 

If you are absent for a period of 4 weeks from the programme this may result in a break in learning so it is important to communicate with your personal supervisor. 

To comply with The Working Time Directive (2003/88/EC), you should not exceed 48 hours work per week (averaged over 17 weeks) in relation to University practice and theory.
