Discussing Place

One of the key skill in geography is using relevant and appropriate terminology.
Create a google doc, or a notebook section where you will keep all of your terms and definitions, divided into units.

Here is a template you can use for yourself or as a small group

What are words we use to define a place?

What do geographers study?

Can a few of you post a picture of a place you visited this summer.
It can contain people, but not yourself or a family member

What interactions between individuals, societies and physical processes do you observe?
What trends and patterns can you identify?
How might geographers study these spatial interactions?
How do these pictures represent the concepts of Power, Process, Place, Possibilities, Scale, System

In groups: Go have a look at the DP geography guide.
Each group will find the definition of one of the following, and explain how it applies to the words we have listed, and at least two places we have looked at.
